About Our Organization
Walpole Children's Theatre, Inc. (WCT) is unique from other children's theater groups in the area. Committing itself to the theater arts, children, and community involvement, WCT works toward providing more opportunities for members and raising the bar for children's theater.
WCT is also unique in its educational opportunities offered to all group members. Children and young adults in the group gain hands-on experience and mentoring in all production areas. Opportunities are offered within the group for young adults seeking more intense education and participation in crew positions.
From their experience at WCT, many have pursued college majors and careers in theater, sound, film, and lighting.
No member of the WCT organization receives payment of any kind for their work. The production crew consists of volunteers who donate their time and talent year-round to give back to the group the wonderful experiences they have had with WCT.

Our History
Walpole Children's Theatre, Inc. (WCT) was founded in 1969 at the Footlighters Playhouse in Walpole, MA, by an Emerson College student. The first performance was two one-act plays that were performed at Footlighters Playhouse and at Bird Park.

In 1992, WCT was incorporated in Massachusetts as a non-profit organization. The mission of the group was to create quality theatrical productions for children and by children.
In 1994, in addition to the annual summer production, a winter show was added and continues to receive as much patronage as the summer production. Smaller one-act plays have been added over the years and performed in Walpole or surrounding towns.
Today, the quality of the performances WCT produces exceeds ordinary children’s theatrical productions and continually demonstrates cultural excellence. Despite a limited budget, the artistic superiority of the productions is truly enriching to the cultural life of the community. Audiences always leave a production knowing that hard work and talent went into each performance.
